City Council
The City Council will consider a resolution calling for a November 2026 election on a locally controlled 1-cent sales tax measure, the 'Ceres 911 Emergency Response, Community Safety, Essential Services Measure.' Planning Commission
The Planning Commission will hold public hearings on a sign variance at 1450 E. Hatch Rd and on amendments to multiple chapters of the Ceres Municipal Code to implement the Housing Element, including prioritizing water/sewer service for affordable housing. They will also receive an update on a proposed moratorium on car washes and gas stations, and discuss eliminating or adjusting Planning Commission compensation.

City Council
The Ceres City Council did not adopt the annual budget for Fiscal Year 2027 after a motion to fund a recreation coordinator was rescinded. The council instead voted only to adopt the appropriations limitations. Additional actions included approving a fire services agreement with Modesto, adopting new speed limits, and approving donations and pavement preservation work.
