City Court Calendar

The City Court of Record has released a calendar of hearings for early to mid-July 2026. The court will handle a variety of legal proceedings including initial appearances, sentencing, and compliance checks.

• Initial appearances for multiple defendants on July 6 and July 8
• Sentencing hearings scheduled for July 6, 8, and 22
• Compliance hearings for various cases on July 6, 13, 20, and 27
• Omnibus hearings for numerous defendants on July 14 and 28
• Order to Show Cause hearings for multiple individuals on July 21

Local Government Study Commission

The Columbia Falls Local Government Study Commission will vote on approving its final report recommending that voters adopt self-government powers. The commission will also consider approving a public outreach flyer to educate voters before the November election.

City Council

The City Council will hold final readings for four ordinances regarding zoning map changes and municipal code updates. The body will also decide on the approval of Heritage Days 2026 and review over $1.4 million in claims and payroll.

• Final reading of Ordinance 842: Zoning change from light industrial to CR-5 Two family Residential
• Approval of claims totaling $1,296,233.84 and payroll of $136,734.14
• Resolution 1967 for Heritage Days 2026 approval
• Payment of $48,822.24 to Jacobs Engineering Group for Gateway to Glacier project
