Access and Equity Action Committee (AEAC)

City Council

City Council
The Fairview Park City Council will hold a special meeting to vote on the final passage of two ordinances that update city codes regarding electric bicycles, scooters, and other micromobility devices. The ordinances define new vehicle categories and establish operational rules and safety requirements. The council will also receive an update on the equalization tank study during the preceding committee meeting.

Board of Control
The Board of Control is meeting to consider approving several purchase orders and modifications for the Recreation and Senior Life/Service departments, including added funds for office furniture, lifeguard chairs, splash pad supplies, door repairs, and a new purchase for playground rubber repairs at the outdoor aquatics area.

Parks and Recreation Commission
The Fairview Park Parks and Recreation Commission will hold a regular meeting to approve previous meeting minutes, receive updates from the director on facilities, programming, and finances, and hear individual park reports from assigned commissioners. Civil Service Commission
The Civil Service Commission will certify a police lateral hiring list for agility tests and discuss succession planning for police and fire departments, including retirement timelines for several officers and the fire chief. They will also finalize 2026-28 collective bargaining contracts and consider creating rules for fire lateral hires.

City Council
City Council will vote on third reading for ordinances authorizing professional design services for the Lorain Road Infrastructure Enhancement Project (funded by $3.27M in grants) and entering a cooperative agreement with USDA for deer management ($56,187). Also up for final passage are bond notes for sewer and street improvements, solid waste and street lighting assessments for 2026, and a contract for boiler replacements. Several items will be passed without three readings, including a new labor agreement with AFSCME and bicycle ordinance amendments.
