Special Meetings

Regular Council Meetings
The Clinton City Council will hold public hearings on a rezoning along Barden Street, text amendments to the land development ordinance, and a resolution to increase the fire protection service district's tax rate and approve a tentative budget for the fire department. New business includes approving special event permits, street closures, budget amendments, and the sale of used fire trucks and a police vehicle. The Council unanimously approved a resolution requesting the Sampson County Board of Commissioners increase the fire protection service district tax rate from $0.09 to $0.10 per $100 valuation for FY 2026-27. They also unanimously approved a rezoning of 0.21 acres from R-8 to R-6 for a duplex development. Two text amendments to the Land Development Ordinance were passed: one allowing expansion of non-conforming structures in HC zones and another updating the dimensional table for the Central Business District to allow placement of HVAC and stairways outside buildings.
