Recent meetings (June 22–25)

The council met but minutes from that session have not been released. The agenda included a bid award for the TxCDBG Paving Improvement Project #CDV23-0066 and approval of minutes from the June 1 regular meeting. No vote totals or decisions are available.

Board of Adjustments – June 25

The board considered a variance request from Melinda Landry for property at 2805 Denison (Case V-645). A public forum allowed residents to speak for up to three minutes. Minutes have not yet been published, so the board’s action on the variance is unknown.

City Council – July 6 at 5:30 p.m.

The regular council meeting includes two public hearings on first-reading ordinances to rezone properties from M-2 manufacturing to R-1 residential. The properties are 1535 Baze Way (request by Francisco Esparza) and Lot 14 in SN TX Park 1 Subdivision (request by Timothy Ryan & Kendra Mitchell).

The council will also vote on a resolution to purchase a 2027 Ford F550 service truck for $214,809.90, approve a resolution to apply for financial assistance from the Texas Water Development Board, and renew the city’s employee health insurance contract with the Texas Municipal League.

City Council (special meeting) – July 7

The council will hold a special session to give second reading to the two rezoning ordinances from the previous night (Ordinance 2159 for 1535 Baze Way and Ordinance 2160 for Lot 14). Following that, the council will go into executive session to consult with an attorney regarding a pre-suit notice letter from Pace-O-Matic, Inc. and POM of Texas concerning Ordinance 2156, the city’s game room regulations. No action is expected in open session on those legal matters.
