Supervisors approve $620,000 for conservation and parks; Muslim worship center conditional use permit granted

Board funds resource districts, park projects
On a 5-0 vote, supervisors authorized two five-year agreements with local Resource Conservation Districts. Agreement 10272 with the El Dorado Resource Conservation District and Agreement 10273 with the Georgetown Divide Resource Conservation District each provide $163,670.56 for fiscal year 2026-27. The board also voted 5-0 to disburse $293,252.10 from the El Dorado Hills Community Services District Impact Mitigation Fee Account to the El Dorado Hills CSD for park and trail projects.
In other unanimous actions, the board approved a step increase for the Air Pollution Control Officer from Step 3 to Step 4, transferred $200 from the Cash Overage Fund to the General Fund, removed certain fixed assets from county records, and accepted the June 16 board minutes.
Muslim worship center permit approved in El Dorado Hills
The county zoning administrator on June 24 approved a conditional use permit for the El Dorado Hills Muslim Community Place of Worship at an existing 7,988-square-foot space. An occupancy condition was added, tying the allowed occupancy to the fire department’s determination. A separate proposal to subdivide a 39.99-acre parcel known as the Native Lane Tentative Parcel Map was continued off calendar with no action taken.

The Fish and Wildlife Commission met June 24 and heard presentations from the American River Conservancy on habitat conservation and from the Mountain Lion Foundation on its new focus. Commissioners discussed co-sponsoring a Mountain Lion Conflict Management Science Symposium and a proposal to purchase and donate 10 fishing rods and reels to the American River Conservancy’s Summer Nature Camp. No votes were taken.
The June 25 Planning Commission meeting was cancelled due to a lack of submitted projects. Its next scheduled meeting is July 9. The July 1 Zoning Administrator meeting was also cancelled; the next session is set for July 15.
