Council members awarded the largest contract of the meeting – $3,875,000 – to Spartan Building Corporation for reconstruction of the Arthur P. Clay Community Center. The project was the most expensive of several facility and roadwork items on the agenda.

In a separate ordinance (No. 14,184), the council repealed Kenner’s municipal brake tag requirements, eliminating the vehicle inspection program.
