ORR School Committee Weighs Assistant Superintendent Appointment, Assessors Set Tax Commitments

Local boards in Mattapoisett addressed school leadership, public safety, environmental restoration and tax matters in recent days, while upcoming sessions will tackle stormwater regulations and the annual housing plan.

The Old Rochester Regional District School Committee was scheduled to vote on the appointment of an interim director to the position of assistant superintendent of student services at its July 1 meeting. The Board of Assessors will meet on July 7 to consider approving preliminary FY2027 real estate and personal property tax commitments, as well as motor vehicle excise commitments for 2026‑3. Betterment payoffs will be reviewed, and the board will enter executive session for tax abatement discussions.
