University Heights Council approves zoning changes for Melrose Avenue Complete Streets Project
The University Heights City Council at its June 30 meeting unanimously approved zoning amendments and property acquisitions needed for the Melrose Avenue Complete Streets Project, a roadway redesign. The council also authorized two certificates of deposit.
Zoning changes approved
Council members voted 4-0-1 to pass Ordinance No. 260, which rewrites zoning rules to allow detached garages in front-yard buildable areas and adjusts setback requirements. The changes are intended to accommodate the Complete Streets Project along Melrose Avenue.
Before the vote, the council suspended its two-meeting ordinance rule on a 4-0-1 vote, allowing the ordinance to be adopted in a single meeting.

- Resolution 26-40: Permanent Utility Easement at 1145 Melrose Ave
