Howard Village Board set to consider $306,322 trail contract; Sex offender board to update application language
Two Howard village boards met in late June, each with several items on their agendas. Because minutes have not yet been published, the outcomes of these meetings are not yet known. Below are the proposals and discussions that were scheduled.
Village Board — June 22
The Village Board was scheduled to hold a public hearing and vote on discontinuing a portion of Security Boulevard. The board also planned to award a $306,322.40 contract for the Multi-Use Trail project to Dorner Inc. Two properties — VH-480 and VH-1504 — were slated to be added to the Deer Management Program for the 2026–2027 archery season.
Another agenda item was an intergovernmental agreement with the City of De Pere for animal control services. The board also planned to enter closed session to discuss an offer to purchase three properties (parcel numbers VH747-B-778-1 and others). Routine items on the consent agenda included license renewals and change orders for construction contracts.
Sex Offender Residency Appeals Board — June 24
The Sex Offender Residency Appeals Board (SORAB) was scheduled to review and approve minutes from its May 20 meeting. The board planned to update the language of its residency application, specifically regarding applicant feelings. Members were also set to discuss inviting experts to address recidivism, treatment options, and assessment tools. A review of recent changes to state sex offender registry regulations was on the agenda. The board may have also entered closed session to review confidential personal records.
