Joint Powers Solid Waste Advisory Board

Planning & Zoning Commission

Planning & Zoning Commission
The Planning Commission will hold public hearings on two ordinances. One would rezone about 3 acres on Timber Road from agricultural to heavy industrial to allow storage units; staff recommends light industrial instead. The other would officially reduce the joint jurisdiction boundary by about 1,391 acres. The commission will take public comment and make recommendations.
- Ordinance 1562: Rezone ~3 acres (Tract 2, Grunewaldt Addition) on north side of Timber Road, 1 mile west of Vermillion, from A-1 Agricultural to HI Heavy Industrial for storage units.
- Staff recommends LI Light Industrial instead of HI to limit nuisance uses.
- Ordinance 1561: Amend Joint Jurisdiction boundary, reducing it by ~1,391 acres in areas west of SD Highway 19 and south of Timber Road, and south of East Main Street.

Library Board
