Cherry Hills Village Art Commission considers $10,000 calaveras display; Parks commission to elect leaders
During the past two weeks, Cherry Hills Village boards and commissions had one meeting with potential spending on the agenda and another that was cancelled. In the coming weeks, the Parks, Trails & Recreation Commission will elect its officers and discuss the 2027 work plan.
The Art Commission met June 29 to discuss and vote on several items, though minutes have not yet been published. The most consequential item was a proposal to recommend that City Council approve a $10,000 loan of eight painted calaveras (skulls) from curator Alexis Newton. The calaveras would be displayed in City Hall for two weeks in October 2026 as part of a Dia de los Muertos event.
