Budget Committee Recommends $750M in Revenue Bonds, FY26-27 Budgets

The Louisville Metro Budget Committee voted 9–0 on June 22 to recommend $750 million in health revenue bonds for Norton Healthcare facility construction and refinancing. The committee also advanced amended operating and capital budgets for the fiscal year that began July 1, sending all measures to the full Metro Council for final action.

Budget Committee sends spending plan, bonds to council

The committee adopted amendments to both the operating and capital budgets before approving them. The operating budget passed 8–1, and the capital budget passed 8–1. A separate ordinance establishing real property tax subclassifications in the Urban Services District was approved 8–0. The $750 million revenue bond authorization for Norton Healthcare cleared unanimously. All items now await a vote by the full Metro Council.

Committee on Committees advances code revision, contract

Meeting on June 23, the Committee on Committees voted 4–1 to recommend a comprehensive review of the Louisville Metro Code of Ordinances (O‑170‑26) to the full council. By voice vote, it also recommended placing a $20,000 contract with Boehl, Stopher & Graves LLP for workplace investigation services on the council’s consent calendar. In addition, the committee assigned 17 other pieces of legislation to the Appropriations, Budget, Equity, Labor, Parks, Planning, and Public Works committees without changes.
