The Mathis City Council will consider awarding a $910,700 construction contract to D&J Utility Services for the HWY 359/1.H.37 Water and Sewer Line Extension Project. The council will also vote on a variance to allow a daycare facility at 707 E. San Patricio and a setback variance at 817 E. Rockport. Additional items include discussion of bond projects, approval of a resolution for a CDBG Downtown Revitalization grant, and establishment of a police cadet sponsorship and reserve officer program.

City Council

City Council
The Mathis City Council will take oaths of office for three newly elected council members and consider several business items. Key actions include a second reading of a sanitation fee schedule ordinance, an interlocal agreement for shared water/wastewater services with Alice, Agua Dulce, and Orange Grove, and a contract for three police vehicles totaling $192,457. City Council

The Mathis City Council will consider a first reading of an ordinance creating an economic incentive program under Chapter 380 of the Texas Local Government Code. Additionally, the council will discuss and possibly act on an interlocal agreement with San Patricio County for street reconditioning, a grant application for the Local Lonestar Grant Program, and the allocation of 2026 Certificate of Obligation bond proceeds for street rehabilitation and vehicle/facility purchases. An executive session is scheduled for annual evaluations of the City Manager and City Secretary.
