Historic Preservation Commission
The Historic Preservation Commission will hold advisory reviews for four properties, including a major hotel expansion at 570 Springfield Avenue (Albion) with rooftop event space and multiple variances. The Commission also discusses demolition applications for three properties, including the site of the former Vanderpoel Castle at 190 River Road, and continues work on a demolition-prevention ordinance.

Environmental Commission

Planning Board
The Planning Board will first enter closed session for personnel matters and pending litigation. During the public meeting, the Board will review two proposed ordinances for consistency with the Master Plan: one banning detention and carceral facilities, and another banning AI data centers. The Board also plans to approve a resolution appointing a firm for Master Plan Reexamination services.

Common Council
The Common Council introduced an ordinance (5-2) to temporarily close Maple Street for pedestrian use from June 18 to September 7, 2026, with a public hearing set for May 5. Three other ordinances were unanimously adopted: amending street excavation rules, updating parking regulations on municipal and school property, and reducing speed limits on Orchard Street and Springfield Avenue. The council also approved resolutions authorizing up to $150,000 for Tier Garage rehabilitation engineering, establishing an Affordable Housing Round IV Task Force, and executing settlement agreements.
