Dr Rosser clarified that the summer reduction. This year, funding was added under special aid, so the number of opportunities will still be higher than last year.
They were looking to budget 3.7 million dollars for after-school programming. and are reducing the 1.1 million allocated through general funds. 26-27 we have 2.6 mil.
Griffin suggested taking money from one of the prek centers as she doesn't believe they have enough families. I am not for doing any of this.
Feinman understands expanding sped and removing prek from schools to avoid isolating sped kids. next year we are facing a larger deficit and looking to expand programs. What strategies are you looking at to ensure we can expand programs for next year.

The Rochester Board of Education will conduct a Public Budget Hearing on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. During this hearing, the Board will welcome parents, students, staff, and community members to provide feedback on the District’s proposed budget for the 2026 – 27 school year.
Please be advised that the only topic that may be addressed at the hearing is the 2026-27 budget. Interested participants may email the Board of Education at
