Charter Commission to consider PUC payment formula and recall changes

The City Charter Commission will discuss and potentially recommend amendments to several charter sections, including a proposed change to Section 235 that would set the Public Utilities Commission's annual in-lieu-of-tax payment at 5.35% of utility revenues. Commissioners will also review Sections 52 and 55 on recall petition thresholds, currently set at five registered voters, and other sections addressing terms of office, Board of Health, commission member removal, and compensation. Two vacancies on the commission remain unfilled.
