Council to adopt North Arlington Avenue Redevelopment Plan

The East Orange City Council will consider several ordinances, including Ordinance #7 to approve and adopt the North Arlington Avenue Redevelopment Plan. Health Officer Dr. Diaz resigns, new director appointed at East Orange Board of Health

The Board will approve the minutes from the December 16, 2025 meeting, elect officers, and introduce the new health department director, Ms. Valencia Maponya. It will also note the resignation of Health Officer Dr. Diaz effective January 8, 2026. Council to approve $3.8 million payroll resolution and multiple service contracts

The East Orange City Council will consider several resolutions, including a payroll authorization of $3,800,454.14 and contracts for special redevelopment, labor, and defense counsel not to exceed $250,000‑$500,000 each. It will also vote on a rehabilitation project for a low‑income property at 50 South Munn Avenue and terminate the redeveloper status of PL 177 Arlington EO LLC in the Transit Village area.
