Disc Golf Course Adjacent to Evergreen Fields and Shively Park
Parks and Recreation staff have been evaluating the development of an 18-hole
disc golf course within currently undeveloped City-owned forest adjacent to
Shively Park and Evergreen Fields. Exploring the addition of new amenities at
park sites, such as disc golf, is a recommendation of the 2026 Parks Master

proposed course is intended to provide an additional low-cost recreational
opportunity while retaining the existing character of Shively Park and
established uses at Shively and Evergreen.
Parks staff are seeking the Parks Advisory Board's support to move forward with
limited, incremental development of the course so that actual use and potential
impacts can be evaluated before proceeding with full development. This
approach will allow staff to continue making adjustments to the layout, trails, and

Plan and the lack of local disc golf options is a topic that has been brought up
by members of the public to the Parks Department for many years. The
proposed course is intended to provide an additional low-cost recreational
opportunity while retaining the existing character of Shively Park and
established uses at Shively and Evergreen.
Parks staff are seeking the Parks Advisory Board's support to move forward with
limited, incremental development of the course so that actual use and potential
impacts can be evaluated before proceeding with full development. This
approach will allow staff to continue making adjustments to the layout, trails, and
