MeeƟng was called to order my Jim Robbins, Chairman at 6:30pm. The following commissioners were in
atendance; Keith Myers, Joanie Freeze, Sherry Fitzpatrick and Wayne Hooper (Commissioner Liaison) at present.
Wes Hamrick and Jim Humerick excused.
Chairman Robbins welcomes everyone and the minutes of Mat 4, 2026 were approved as writen.
September Jones updated us on the June 22-26, 2026 A Day in the Park. All 19 youth had a wonderful Ɵme with
many acƟviƟes during the week. The next, A Day in the Park, will be July 13-17, 2026 with 16 youth signed up and
August 3-7, 2026 with 22 youth signed up. The A Day in the Park program is outstanding with wonderful leaders
and supported by members of our community.
The Summer Concert Program will host the Browningsville Cornet Band on Sunday July 12. The concert in August
will be on the 2nd with the Westminster Municipal Band and on September 13, 2026 the band will be Country Dan
& Sidewinders. The Concerts begin at 6pm and last one hour.
The Thurmont Green Team and Park Program Coordinator September Jones are working on the Thurmont Trolley
Trail Adopt-A-Bed program. There are 3 beds that sƟll need to be Adopted. If you are interested in adopƟng a
bed, please contact September Jones (sjones@thurmontstaff.com) or if you have any quesƟon about the
program.

Prior to beginning work on the Charter , Chair Powell commented that he was made aware
of comments made outside of the Committee and he wants to make clear that there will be
no discussions of Commissioner’s or Mayor’s personal finances during our review of the
charter.
Also prior to beginning work on the Charter we had a conversation regarding the
attendance of the Commissioner Liaison and/or Commissioners or Mayor attending the
meeting. All feel there is no problem with their attendance. Kevin McGuire made a motion
for the Liaison and/or commissioners to attend if they so desire. Sarah Waldron seconded.
