Just quickly, I think it's important to note that this is a critical time in the life cycle of our Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency. Just a little walk back in history. The downtown district was originally founded in 1979. At that time, the taxable value in the downtown was $103 million. This year, that taxable value is $1.7 billion, and the Beach District was founded in 1997 with $545 million as the overall base taxable value. And today, that number is 4.69 billion. City to vote on $1.95M loan for Mosaic Hollywood affordable housing

And we are here for a regular City Commission meeting. That was. I always say there's no meeting that's ever regular, because it was always interesting and important items on the agenda. And today is no different. Before we rise to the moment of silence and the Pledge of Allegiance, I would like us to please reflect on a loss by one of our former mayors, Marie Galante, who was the mayor longest serving mayor in the city of Hollywood's history. I think about 20 years. You might remember that during those decades of her service by her side was her husband, Donnie, who at the age of 84 earlier this week. Unfortunately, I regret to inform everyone passed away. So we wish condolences to Mayor Galante and her family, her sons Michael and Stacy, and their grandkids. Mara had written that it's been a, you know, obviously a devastating loss for her personally. They were really, you know, always together, even at the rotary auctions is when when I would see Donnie with her most often annually, always in good spirits. And I know he was a medical doctor here in Hollywood for many, many years. And so lots of patience and lots of people, you know, develop that personal relationship with him. So we honor him for his service as a doctor in our community. And again, our condolences to the Galante family.
