Four, three, two, one. Good morning and welcome to our Finance and Economic Resil iency Committee meeting. Looks like a commission meeting here as we have the whole body here. Thank you so much to all my colleagues, to the chair of the committee, Commissioner Magazine. I'll just say a couple of words before turning it over to Commissioner Magazine. First of all, big shout out to our entire city, city staff, our residents for an incredible World Cup. We're all feeling the energy and the passion and the vibes. And when you're walking around, I'm hearing, I'm sure we're all hearing it, when people are telling me they're flying into Miami Beach from around the world, from around our country, just to be here, not only to watch the actual game, but actually to just be here for a watch party. That is incredible. And we've really showcased our city. And we are a world-class city, but certainly this has elevated us in a big way. So thank you for all the entire city, police, fire, sanitation. I mean, right at that North Beach party, there was, I mean, you had 5,000, 6,000 people. And by the next morning, it didn't look like there was anything going on there the night before. So great work. The beautiful thing about this budget, we are in a unique position and working from a position of strength. So while we're talking about a lot of areas where we can streamline, where it can be leaner, we're also talking about we had a surplus last year. I'm guessing we're going to actually have a sur [Excerpt truncated on this listing page; use the official record for the full text.]

3, 2, 1. Good afternoon, everyone. Today is July 15th. I am accompanied by a good friend and colleague, Commissioner Alex Fernandez and Commissioner Bott. Maria, do we have any announcements to make? Mr. Chair, if I may, there is one announcement, item number 7, which is the I-1 zoning district helipad item is being deferred to a future meeting. Okay. All right. Excuse me? Yeah. My acclamation, can we defer the item? Commissioner Bott, yeah. And just for the record, we did have one supplemental item, that's item number 8, that is on the agenda today. Okay. Let's start with item number 1. Okay, Mr. Chair, item number 1 is discuss a proposed amendment to the RS2, single-family residential district requirements in the land development regulations to allow a tennis court as a main permitted use where the tennis court was previously approved as an accessory use to a single-family home. This particular item is very narrow, the way it has been drafted. It would apply to an existing tennis court only that is not currently part of a single-family property within the RS2 zoning district. There's one particular property that we have identified that this would apply to. It's somewhat of a unique situation where the planning board in 1998 approved a lot split. So, previous to the lot split, it was actually a single- family residence. It was a double lot that combined a, that had an accessory tennis court. When the lot was split, the properties were sold to different owners, and there was [Excerpt truncated on this listing page; use the official record for the full text.]

To the Finance and Economic Resiliency Committee meeting which is serving as the budget workshop. We don't usually do the Pledge of Alleg iance in committee meetings but we have the whole body here. We got quite a nice crowd in the in the gallery so Jason and Tamika you're working hard on this budget why don't you take it away. Thank you to all my colleagues for for being here before I turn it over to our chair Commissioner magazine just wanted to thank Eric Jason Tamika for this process one of the things that we do there's a series of budget meetings that we have very transparent open to the public documents are available to anybody who has the interest in reviewing them and dig esting them but we also do this in the public and go through the items and as we final ize the budget we we are being very intentional with our spending as we showed which we showed our community in Miami Beach last year returning surplus funds lowering our Miami Beach millage rate and as we know there could be some some cuts coming from the state and the county certainly with the property tax voter referendum looming so this and I'm very proud of our Commission because we are very focused on the core services that we as government need to provide and strengthening public safety maintaining a clean city beautiful public spaces and investing where where residents see real value and we're doing that well we're doing that for the most part I hear a lot of positive feedback from our residents and busines [Excerpt truncated on this listing page; use the official record for the full text.]
