Chairperson Nimri called the Transportation and Public Safety Commission
Meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

4. CEREMONIAL MATTERS
The Commission proceeded with the annual reorganization of the Commission in
appointing the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson for a one-year term.
Secretary Monroy opened nominations for election of Chair person.
Commissioner Nimri nominated Commission er Stoll for Chair person, seconded
by Commissioner Xu.
Commissioner Stoll was appointment Chairperson by acclamation.

Captain Meza introduced the Deputy of the Year, Deputy Benjamin Swartz.
Mayor Sternquist and City Council congratulated Deputy Swartz and presented him with a plaque and a

Chambers located at 5938 Kauffman Avenue, Temple City.

A. UPDATE FROM FAMILY PROMISE

Ms. Delmy Batol, Case Manager with Family Promise for Temple City, provided City
Council with an update of their work in 2025. She shared that 15 families received help
through the rental assistance program.

Councilmember Chavez made a motion to approve the Consent Calendar Items. Seconded by
Councilmember Chen and approved by the following votes:

1. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. at the Temple City City Hall
Conference Room located at 9701 Las Tunas Drive, Temple City, California.

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 25, 2025
Councilmember Chavez made a motion to approve the Minutes from June 26,
2025. Seconded by Board Member Smith.

4. DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. CITY AND SCHOOL DISTRICT UPDATES
City Update
I. E-Bikes
• Public Safety Supervisor Amaya provided an update on e -bike
regulations including static lighting, wattage limits, and applicable
standards. The City Attorney is expected to present a more
detailed overview of new legislation at an upcoming Council
meeting.
• City staff is working with the Sheriff’s Department to assess bike
rack compliance at Oak Avenue Intermediate School and Temple
City High School. As part of this effort, non -compliant bikes have
been detained, which required parents to retrieve them from the
school administration.

the pledge of allegiance.

A. Holiday Decorating Contest Winners
Parks and Recreation Secretary Venters gave a summary of the holiday decoration
contest.
Mayor Sternquist and City Council recognized the contest winners.
