Council to adopt new electric vehicle charging station regulations

The Washington Borough Council will hold a first reading and public hearing on Ordinance 2026-09, which amends Chapter 85 to establish rules and fees for borough-owned electric vehicle charging stations. 1 ++ WASHINGTON BOROUGH LAND USE BOARD MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING HELD ON January 1 2 , 202 6 The re gular meeting of the Washington Borough Land Use Board was called to order by Andrew Turner . at 7: 00 P.M. Mr. Turner read the following statement into the record: "The requirements of the "Open Public Meetings Law", P.L. 1975, Chapter 231, have been satisfied in that adequate notice of this meeting has be en published in the Star Ledger and Daily Record, and posted on the Bulletin Board of the Borough Hall stating the time, place and purpose of the meeting as r equired by law." Mr. Turner led the Board in the Pledge of Allegianc e. ROLL CALL: Present: Turner, Wright, Matteo , Torres VanDeursen , Cox, Valle, Hofmann Absent: Loftus Also Present: Steven Gruenberg , Esq. ; Stanley Schrek, Board Engineer. REORGANIZATION: OATH OF OFFICE: Hofmann – Class IV, Prendergast - Alternate I, Norris – Alternate II ELECTION OF OFFICERS : Chairman – Andrew Turner was nominated by VanDeursen, seconded by Valle . Nominations closed. All in favor. Vice-Chairman – Marianne VanDeursen was nominated by Turner , seconded by Cox . Nominations closed. All in favor. Secretary – Cynthia Valle was nominated by Turner , seconded by Van Deursen . Nominations closed. All in favor. Green Team

The Green Team will review the Farmers Market end‑of‑season financial report.

The Washington Borough Green Team will elect its officers and approve the November 12, 2025 meeting minutes. It will receive updates on the Sabbecong Mountain Preserve, the National Wildlife Federation habitat project, and DASACC assistance for 2026. The board will discuss the Farmers Market end‑of‑season financial report, the April 11, 2026 stream cleanup, and proposals for new 2026 projects. The meeting will conclude with any other business.

Roll Call: Brown, Gorshkov, Infinito, Matteo, Musick and Cox.. Also Present: Erik Peterson Attorney Borough Manager, Brian Bond Laurie A. Courter, Borough Clerk Absent: France Mayor Cox led everyone in the flag salute and a moment of silence. Mayor Cox read the following statement into record: STATEMENT OF ADEQUATE NOTICE The requirements of the Open Public Meetings Law, P.L. 1975, Chapter 231 have been satisfied in that adequate notice of this meeting has been published in the Express -Times and Star Ledger and posted on the Boroughs website stating the time, place and purpose of the meeting as required by law.
