The Boards, Commissions, and Committees Review Committee is holding an organizational meeting. The discussion will focus on the process of review and deliverables.

The committee made revisions to the meetings, minutes, parliamentary, and membership sections of the draft operating rules. Members determined that substitute members are not needed. The committee is awaiting an evaluation form from the Head of Archives to proceed with further actions.

Historical Commission

The Historical Commission will meet to discuss demolition applications for two properties. The body will also continue a discussion regarding 142 Main Street.

The Amesbury Historical Commission approved two demolition applications: one for a rear addition at 13 High Street and another for a small outbuilding at 382 Main Street. Both structures were deemed non-contributing to the historic significance of their properties. The commission also received correspondence from the Massachusetts Historical Commission regarding a MACRIS form error for a Southampton Road house.

Cultural Council

The Amesbury Cultural Council approved a motion to reimburse Margaret Leahy for canceling WIX and subscribing to Squarespace, and voted unanimously to switch to Squarespace. They also approved $300 for advertising in the Merchant Ad to increase membership. Amy VanderEls was elected co-chair unanimously. The council discussed the mural project, Artsville, and volunteer needs but took no final decisions on those items.

School Committee

The School Committee is meeting in executive session to conduct collective bargaining and discuss strategy. These sessions involve the AFT Amesbury Teachers/Nurses, Paraprofessionals/Tutors, and Multi-Purpose Facilities Technicians/Maintenance units.
