The St. Martins of Tours School Carnival will take place from June 26th to the 28th and the Village Beach
opens on Saturday June 27th – let ’s hope this wonderful weather continues.
The Historical Society will present a fundraising Musicale, on Sunday, June 28th from 2 – 4 p.m. at St.
Mary ’s Parish Hall.
T he July 3rd Celebration is back on Broadway, the Friday before the 4th of July holiday , with vendors,
food trucks, bouncy houses for the kids, and live music from T he Byrne Unit.
The July 4th parade celebrates the nation ’s 250th -- stepping off at 10 a.m. on the 4th from MacDonald
Ave. at South Bayview Ave.

After introducing the Board, Eric Taylor, informed applicants that they are hereby notified that
all agreed upon concessions, promises, pledges, assurance, or declarations given by them or their
duly appointed agents, during their hearing process shall become stipulations to any approvals
given by the Board. He also asked that anyone who comes to speak at the podium to please state
your name and address for the record and to sign in on the sign in sheet.
Eric Taylor informed the applicants that they must adhere to the plans submitted in conjunction
with this application as approved by the Board, any deviation from the approved plans may
require the application to be re-called by the Board.

Chairperson Greenwald informed the applicants that they must adhere to the plans submitted in conjunction
with this application as approved by The Board, any deviation from the approved plans may require the
application to be re-called by this Board. Additionally, the applicant must stick to the plans that were
discussed; any plans that deviate from what is being presented or discussed tonight must be submitted to the
building inspector and may require applicant to come before this board again. The applicant must obtain

Lang, III and we invite everyone to join in the dedication ceremony.
On Saturday, May 9 th , 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. First Methodist Church Spring Fling Craft Fair returns to the church

Mayor Michael O ’Neill welcomed the attendees to the Board of Trustees M eeting that had been postponed due
to Winter Storm Hernando and asked APD Chief Frank Caramanica to lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
He noted that Trustee Russo was unable to attend due to another commitment.
Mayor O ’Neill thanked the Department of Public Works for their ongoing hard work in clearing out the snow
following the blizzard on Sunday/Monday that produced a record-breaking snowfall. Our DPW, AFD and APD
showed their resiliency throughout the storm and afterwards.
The Mayor took a moment to acknowledge the passing of Jessica Bonser, the wife of DPW ’s Rich ard Bonser .
He extended the Board ’s sympathies to Richie and his family.
The Mayor then invited Deputy Mayor Owen Brooks to share upcoming events and dates which included: The

The Mayor thanked the Amityville Fire Department and the many neighboring departments who provided
mutual aid for fighting two horrific house fires over the weekend in sub-zero temperatures. Fortunately, the
homeowners were able to get out safely , he said, and h e thanke d the Building Inspector, Fire Marshal and
Superintendent of Public Works and team f or their on-scene support. It was a village effort and the community
has come together for their neighbors . He also reminded residents to clear any snow or ice from the fire
hydrants in front of their property .
He then invited Deputy Mayor Owen Brooks to share upcoming local events , which included: Memory

Public Hearing in the Court Room of Village Hall, 21 Ireland Place, Amityville, NY at 6:00 P.M.
on THURSDAY, January 8, 2026, to consider the following applications:
Continuing: Revised Architectural Review.
Application of Elia Hajjar. Applicant seeks architectural review and approval for a proposed
front façade renovation pursuant to Section 24-6 A. (1) (g) of the Village Code. Premises located
on the West Side of Broadway approximately 50 feet North of Greene Avenue in a “B-1”
Business District known as 188 Broadway a/k/a SCTM #101-5-2-16.1.
Application of Hernan Guaman. Applicant seeks architectural review and approval to maintain a new
two car detached 23’ x 18’-6” garage pursuant to Section 24-6 A. (1) (h) of the Village of Amityville
Code. Premises located on the West side of Oldfield Avenue approximately 355 feet South of Ireland
Place in a “Residential B” District known as 168 Oldfield Avenue a/k/a SCTM# 101-5-4-11.

Chairperson Stephen Greenwald welcomed everyone to the January 8, 2026, meeting of the Amityville Planning
Board at 6:00 P.M.
The Board and attendees recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

Patricia Benson, Secretary to the Board
Chairperson Greenwald informed applicants that they are hereby notified that all agreed upon concessions,
promises, pledges, assurances, or declarations given by them or their duly appointed agents, during their hearing
process shall become stipulations to any approvals given by this Board.
Chairperson Greenwald informed the applicants that they must adhere to the plans submitted in conjunction with
this application as approved by The Board, any deviation from the approved plans may require the application to
be re-called by this Board. Additionally, the applicant must stick to the plans that were discussed; any plans that
deviate from what is being presented or discussed tonight must be submitted to the building inspector and may
require applicant to come before this board again. The applicant must obtain building permits once the plans are
approved by the building inspector, the applicant must adhere to all Village State and County local codes.
