Transportation Committee

The Transportation Committee approved the December and January meeting minutes unanimously and approved a bylaw amendment to move the November and December meeting dates to the second Wednesday instead of the fourth Wednesday. The committee also discussed the Transportation System Plan, including goals to align capacity with demand, improve connectivity, prioritize sidewalk connectivity, and enhance safety. A parking management update covered consideration of a paid parking solution for Olde Town, a desire to bring parking enforcement in-house, and updates to the citation appeal process. Planning Commission

The Arvada Planning Commission voted 5-0 to recommend that City Council approve a major land development code amendment changing floodplain regulations. The changes would eliminate the city's official floodplain map, prohibit makeshift habitable structures in high-risk flood zones, give more flexibility on floodplain fencing, and let the city regulate areas at high flood risk not shown on current FEMA maps. The commission also voted 5-0 to cancel its February 6 meeting. Members Figliolino and Gay were absent.
