How do you respond when someone asks where you live? Do you gener - alize with “near Stillwater” or “Do you know where Hudson is?” Well, maybe it’s time to put Bayport on the map! One way we’re thinking of doing that is inclusion on a literal map of electric vehicle charging stations. We’re hoping to be the first in the area to offer a public option! The plan is to put it behind the library, moving dumpsters to make room and not add to the evening parking challenge due to the popu- larity of our restaurants in that area, includ- ing the new Langford Exchange. (If you haven’t checked out this gorgeous space yet, you need to!) Another map-worthy Bayport spot is the new school which is reportedly on schedule to open this fall. To help connect it better to the community, a Safe Routes to School grant is being used to install a sidewalk along 5th Avenue North this summer. The Community Thread is your local connection to volunteerism, social activities, ride services, and more! Located on the first floor of the White Pine Building at 342 5th Ave. N., they offer a variety of classes and activities, including card games, crafting workshops, weekly chair yoga and line dance classes, com - munity discussions, and discount driving classes.
