SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER WORKSHOP Central Middle School - 5:00P.M.

The Ascension Parish School Board is holding a workshop at Central Middle School. The meeting includes a presentation by Dr. Jesse Jackson III of The Best Man Company, LLC regarding organizational challenges and strategic planning.

The Ascension Parish School Board approved a consent agenda that included several facility projects, such as temporary facilities at East Ascension High School, a supply chain warehouse addition, and a chiller replacement at Central Middle School. The board also approved a voluntary retirement plan vendor, the December 2021 personnel report, the monthly Head Start services report, and three appeals on the length of expulsion for students from Dutchtown Middle School, Dutchtown High School, and Galvez Middle School. Additionally, they recognized Ashley Churlock Rogillio as Louisiana School Counselor Association's Elementary School Counselor of the Year.

Policy Committee Meeting - Central Middle - Cafetorium -5:30P.M.

The Policy Committee voted to recommend placing 12 policy items on the consent agenda for the next full board meeting, including a new holiday recognizing Juneteenth, the 2022-2023 school calendar, and updates to policies on corporal punishment and purchasing. All motions carried with most members in favor and one abstention.

Regular Meeting - Ascension Parish School Board - Donaldsonville High School

Budget Committee Meeting - Donaldsonville High School 6:00PM

The Budget Committee reviewed an overview of the voluntary retirement plan options (403b, Roth 403b, 457b) presented by Chad Lynch. It then voted on the staff’s recommendation for RFP 5147 and approved the motion. The meeting concluded with additional board comments and an adjournment motion.
