Electrical Resilience Ad Hoc Committee

The Electrical Resilience Ad Hoc Committee will discuss a proposed action plan to improve power reliability and reduce carbon footprints. The committee may adopt the plan, request changes, or seek more information to address frequent outages caused by Southern California Edison's distribution system.

• Discussion of the City of Beverly Hills Electrical Resilience Action Plan
• Review of near-term actions for energy efficiency, solar, and energy storage
• Discussion of medium-term onsite microgrids for schools and emergency shelters
• Analysis of outage patterns in the Santa Monica foothills and northeast of Santa Monica Boulevard
• Director of Public Works report on next meeting dates (February 28 and March 27, 2024)

Recreation & Parks Liaison Committee

The Recreation and Parks Commission is requesting direction from City Council Liaisons regarding the replacement of the dog park's current ground covering. Staff is presenting various material options, including artificial turf, wood chips, and stone, following public concerns about the existing surface. The committee will also consider whether to survey the public for feedback on these options.

• Request to revisit Community Dog Park resurfacing
• Review of surface options: grass, artificial turf, woodchips, wood fiber, stone dust, pea stone, mulch, and rice stone
• Discussion of potential risks and maintenance for artificial turf
