✓ Decided: Commission backs $35K impact fee for 144-acre land buy

The Brunswick Recreation Commission voted unanimously to recommend using up to $35,000 from the Recreation Impact Fee Fund to help acquire 144 acres on the west side of Brunswick Landing for outdoor recreation. The motion directs staff to write a letter to the Town Council supporting the purchase, which would match grant funds and cover about 50% of acquisition costs. The commission also approved minutes from November and December 2020 and discussed updates on the LC3 project, COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Recreation Center, and Simpson's Point paving plans.

Council to consider zoning text changes, wastewater fees, road paving, police contract

The Brunswick Town Council will hold public hearings on proposed zoning ordinance text amendments (accessory use definition, subdivision recording, performance guarantees) and on increasing user fees for the Mere Point Wastewater District. Under new business, the Council will consider a resolution to pave and widen Simpson's Point Road using $180,911.29 from the Water Access Fund, and ratify a one-year contract with the Brunswick Police Benefits Association.
