Board of Finance

The Board of Finance approved funding for a transportation grant application and a transfer for barrel purchases. Two proposals, a bond council resolution and a new reserve transfer policy, were withdrawn following discussion.

Inland Wetlands & Watercourses Commission

The Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission approved a permit for a Town of Burlington road reconstruction project. The project is estimated to affect approximately 2,000 sq. ft. of wetlands.

Board of Selectmen

The Board of Selectmen approved a contract with Cardinal Engineering to apply for a TRIP grant for roadway improvements. The board also held an executive session regarding the Fire Chief position and reviewed budget and ARPA fund updates.

Economic Development Commission

Library Board of Directors

The Burlington Public Library Board of Library Directors will meet on December 6, 2022, to discuss ongoing business including a Friends of the Library update, and consider a revision to the library's circulation policy under new business. The board will also receive reports from the director on library statistics, budget, and building matters.

Conservation Commission

The Commission elected Vince Lambri as Chairman and established goals for 2023, including public education on wind, solar, and recycling. Members agreed to research potential tax exemptions for private open space under CT Public Act 490.

Senior Citizens Commission

Board of Selectmen

Economic Development Commission

The Commission approved its 2023 meeting schedule and reviewed updates on town infrastructure and development. First Selectman Doug Thompson reported that the Board of Selectmen will not proceed with a development RFP for the Library Lane property at this time. Discussions were held regarding sidewalk extensions and bridge repairs planned for 2023.

Planning & Zoning Commission

The Commission denied without prejudice a subdivision application for Ford Rd #70 due to drainage concerns and failure to meet town regulations. Members also discussed future updates to cannabis and dining parking regulations.

Inland Wetlands & Watercourses Commission

The Commission determined that the Town of Burlington's road reconstruction project for GWT/Case/Punchbrook will have a significant impact on wetlands. A public hearing for the project is scheduled for December 14, 2022. The Commission also approved the August 10, 2022, meeting minutes.
