The Board and staff discussed options for tiny home ordinances and permit processes.
Commissioner Jones stated that his opinion is to treat them like regular homes and ensure that they
are meeting all set backs and requirements.
Director Powell talked about the 4 different types of tiny homes.
Vice Chairman Gowen agreed with Commissioner Jones' stance.
The Board and staff discussed the case load in their building inspection and code enforcement
office.
Vice Chairman Gowen recommended getting a contract service in to help Mr. Donald Glover
manage the case load until the office was caught back up.

TY stated that communicated with other EMAs while at conference. Sirens do create a heavy work
load, but advocate for them as another layer of warning service. Try to do multi-modal emergency
warning process that includes wireless alerts, IPAWS, sirens, socia media, etc.
Talked about benefits of sirens, including areas of lack of cellphone signal. Talked about other
counties who had issues with power outage and lack of signal due in various emergencies.

Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM.
Present was Commissioner Jesse Crews, Chairwoman Alphya Benefield, Vice Chairman Luke Gowen,
Commissioner Drew Jones, Commissioner James Everett, County Attorney John Adams, Interim County
Administrator Rebecca Harden, and County Clerk Madeline Nettles.
All guests are recorded hereafter.
Invocation and Pledge to the Flag
The invocation was led by Commissioner Crews.
Adoption of the Agenda
Commissioner Everett made a motion to Adopt the Agenda as Presented. Vice Chairman Gowen
seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
