Civil Service Commission

The Denison Civil Service Commission will meet to elect a chairman and vice chairman for 2024, approve prior meeting minutes, certify the eligibility list from the December 4, 2023 Captain's Promotional Exam, and adopt new promotional study material for Denison Fire Rescue. The meeting also includes public comments and possible executive session for personnel or legal matters.

Firemen’s Relief & Retirement Board

The Board will discuss and take action on a proposal from Rudd and Wisdom, Inc. for actuarial services. The meeting also includes reviews of monthly expenses, pending retirements, and a business address update.

Planning & Zoning Commission

The Planning and Zoning Commission will select a new Chair and Vice Chair and administer oaths to new members. The commission will also hold public hearings to make recommendations on several land use requests, including rezoning for multi-family residential use and a conditional use permit for a distribution center.

Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone Number Four

The Reinvestment Zone No. 4 Board of Directors will meet to consider authorizing the use of TIRZ 4 funds to finance repairs to Loy Lake Dam, and will receive an update on the financial status of the Tax Increment Fund. The board will also approve minutes from a 2021 meeting and administer oaths to new and reappointed members.

• Authorize use of TIRZ 4 funds for Loy Lake Dam repairs, with $1,600,000 issuance for design and initial construction, estimated $170,000 annually for 12 years
• Update on TIF financial status: balance of $207,505 as of December 2023, with base value growth from $92,644,653 to $117,615,075
