The Root River Trail Extension Citizens Exploratory Committee accepted the November 11, 2022, minutes by consensus. The committee discussed a draft task list for the trail extension and agreed that background research on property ownership must be completed before contacting private landowners.

Planning Commission

The La Crescent Planning Commission will meet to review a conditional use permit application for 1120 South Oak Street, elect a chair and vice-chair, and discuss ordinances regulating short-term rentals and mobile food units. The meeting also includes approval of the November 2022 minutes and review of commission rules and policies.

The Planning Commission recommended granting a Conditional Use Permit for the La Crescent Montessori Academy to rent additional space at 1120 South Oak Street. The commission also elected its leadership and recommended the City Council proceed with reviewing a short-term rental ordinance.

The City Council approved the demolition of a city-owned house and the purchase of new computers. The council also completed annual appointments for city commissions and designated official financial depositories for 2023.
