Public Art Advisory Board

The Public Art Advisory Board will meet virtually to approve minutes, introduce new members, and receive updates on the Little Free Library, Flower Knit Project, and mural applications. The main new business is selecting artists for the 2025-2026 Sculpture Trail, based on submissions presented by art consultant Jim Davis.

Town Council

Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library Advisory Board

The Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library Advisory Board will meet to adopt minutes from November 21, 2024, introduce new members, and vote on a policy for public educator cards and school courier service. The board will also hear updates from the Friends of the Library and the librarian's report.

Board of Adjustment

The Johnston County Board of Adjustment for the Town of Clayton held a procedural meeting with no evidentiary hearings or old business. New members were sworn in, and the board received training on quasi-judicial processes, including appeals, variances, and special use permits under the Unified Development Ordinance.

Downtown Development Advisory Board

The Downtown Development Association Advisory Board will meet to approve December minutes, receive a staff update on bylaw changes, and vote on 2024 downtown awards. The board will also hear committee reports and set first-quarter priorities.

Town Council

The Town Council will hold a work session to discuss several departmental updates. Topics include the Electric Department load management, technology updates, and the mid-year budget discussion.

The Town Council discussed the Electric Department's load management program, which a consultant found produces no measurable reduction in electricity load despite costing $470,820 annually. Town Council
