Topics Discussed
Leaf Blower Survey Results Review
• The committee reviewed the community survey and landscaper outreach. The
community survey received more than 800 responses; the meeting discussion
also referenced 862 responses. Seven landscaping businesses completed a
separate survey aimed at landscaping businesses.
• Survey results were recognized as voluntary rather than a randomized scientific
sample. Key themes included noise, air quality, wildlife and respiratory impacts,
equipment costs and capabilities, and the practical effect of restrictions on
landscaping businesses.
• Reported findings included approximately 70% concern about noise, 48%
concern about air quality, 63% support for restrictions, and 62.8% selecting
seasonal or time-of-day limits as a reasonable starting point. Members noted that
non-resident responses were limited and still relevant to people who spend time
in town seasonally.
• Landscaper feedback emphasized cost, equipment performance, scheduling,
and the difficulty of complying with different rules across neighboring towns.
Members also noted that some concerns may reflect older electric-equipment
