Virtual Enterprises International Youth Business Summit
The board salutes the 34 Neuqua Valley business students who traveled to New York City and made history. They are the first team outside of New York or California in the 30-year history of Virtual Enterprise International to win the National Business Plan Competition. Students competed in national business competitions, participated in leadership and networking experiences, and entered their work at an international trade exhibition. Thanks to the guidance of facilitators Beth Schmidtgall, Beth Knuth, and John Hanson, these students have proven themselves to be among the best young entrepreneurs in the world.

The board salutes Shruthi Ayyagari, eighth grade student from Granger Middle School, who captured the first-place title at the 2026 Indian Prairie School District Spelling Bee on Tuesday, January 20. Sachin Jabshetty, seventh grade student from Scullen Middle School, took second place, and Kiara Kothari, seventh grade student from Crone Middle School, won third place. Twenty-one students from all seven middle schools in the district participated in the event. The top three students from District 204 will compete in the Scripps DuPage County Spelling Bee Final on Thursday, February 19 in Addison.
