Board of Assessors

The East Longmeadow Board of Assessors will review minutes, discuss administrative reports including motor vehicle excise abatements ($1,821.77) and statutory exemptions ($118,661.28 plus CPA funds), consider apportionment of taxes on divided real estate at 75 Hampden Rd, and a Chapter 61B tax lien on 526 Prospect St. The board will also review the draft 2022 annual report and hold an executive session.

Planning Board

The East Longmeadow Planning Board will vote on two site plan review waivers: one for a pet-sitting home office at 35 Donamor Lane and another for a hair salon booth rental at 42 Harkness Avenue. The board will also approve minutes from January 3, 2023, and receive a director's report.

Westcomm Meetings

The WestCOMM Board of Directors and Finance Committee are holding a joint meeting to discuss the FY24 budget and goals, and an update on the IMC issue. They will also vote to enter executive session for strategy sessions on nonunion personnel negotiations. The meeting is scheduled for January 13, 2023, at 10:30 a.m.

The Board approved the FY 24 budget with a modification to include a dispatch position. Members also requested a new monthly IT staff summary report to track technical issues and resolutions. The board decided to seek written confirmation from State 911 regarding budget deadlines and reimbursements.

Hampden County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls

The Historic Commission will hold a virtual meeting to discuss old business items including mileage reimbursement, open meeting law training, and conflict of interest updates. New business includes discussion on the commission's work for 2023 and grant proposals. The meeting will also include public comment and approval of previous meeting minutes.

Hampden County Regional Retirement Board

The Hampden County Regional Retirement Board will vote on approving new retirement allowances for 11 individuals and consider 11 new applications for retirement. The board will also vote on a $2.5 million transfer from the PRIT fund to cover January payroll and expenses, and discuss whether to continue the Audit Committee. Other business includes approving warrants totaling over $4.7 million, accepting new member applications, and voting on a budget breakdown for 2023.

Recreation Commission

The Recreation Commission will meet to review the Director and member reports. The body will discuss updates regarding Heritage Park and the 2023 Annual Report and Community Recreation Needs.

The commission held a meeting to receive the Recreation Director's report on sports programming and facility challenges. No substantive policy decisions or votes were recorded during the session.

COA Board

The Council on Aging Board will meet to review reports from the Director, Program/Volunteer Coordinator, and legislative and committee representatives. The board will discuss bylaws under new business and the Golden Cane Award under old business.

The Board approved the minutes from the December 13, 2022 meeting. The Director provided a report on 2022 statistics, including the delivery of 10,053 Meals-on-Wheels and 6,459 congregate lunches. No new or old business was reported.

Town Council

The Town Council will hold public hearings on funding for map preservation and window replacements at Quarry Hill. The body will also discuss a zoning change for 312 Parker Street and a new fuel-efficient vehicle policy.
