The Select Board unanimously affirmed the appointment of Jeffrey Lewis as Fire Chief and waived the residency requirement, allowing him to relocate to Falmouth. The Board also approved a Flow Neutral Bylaw variance for Devour Artisan Eatery to increase seating from 12 to 45, and voted to recommend Article 17 (Short-Term Rental Bylaw) to Town Meeting with an amendment striking Select Board approval of rules. The Falmouth Select Board authorized the Town Manager to issue Notices of Award to Falmouth Housing Trust for affordable housing development at 21 Pheasant Lane and 20 Brigantine Drive. The Board also approved a $169,654 building permit fee waiver for the new YMCA facility, approved multiple entertainment and liquor licenses for summer events, and supported amendments to the short-term rental bylaw article for the Annual Town Meeting. All votes were unanimous (4-0) except two liquor license approvals that passed 3-0 with one abstention.
