Planning & Zoning

The commission approved comprehensive updates to the Unified Development Ordinance to implement the Forward Fate Comprehensive Plan. They also approved a preliminary plat for a car dealership and a special use permit for an auto parts store.

City Council

The Fate City Council will hold a regular meeting on December 5, 2022, to discuss and take action on several items, including a zoning change from Agriculture to Residential Estate on 3.344 acres, an agreement with the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas for youth sports programming, and a petition to annex 11.4808 acres at 2126 Blackland Road. The consent agenda includes ordinances on ambulance service regulation, easement dedications, and a sewer easement abandonment. The council will also go into executive session to discuss economic development incentives and real property acquisition.

The City Council approved a partnership with the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas for youth sports and rezoned a 3.344-acre property to Residential Estate. The Council also reached a consensus to request that the Rockwall County Outer Loop Highway route be moved as far east as possible.

Planning & Zoning

The Planning and Zoning Commission approved a request to change the zoning of a 3.344-acre property from Agriculture (A) to Residential Estate (RE). This change allows the property to be divided into two separate lots according to city standards.

Parks & Recreation Board

The board approved the minutes from the October 4, 2022 meeting and agreed to the proposed 2023 special meeting dates. Staff provided updates on Fate Station Park, Joe Burger Park, and the upcoming Christmas Tree Lighting event. A proposed YMCA partnership for youth sports was discussed but deferred for further information.

City Council

The Fate City Council will consider conditional approval of a preliminary plat for Phase 6L of the Woodcreek Subdivision, which would create 51 single-family residential lots on 16.202 acres. The council will also discuss and take action on exclusive nonemergency medical transports. An executive session is scheduled to deliberate right-of-way acquisition for road bond projects north and south of I-30.
