Arts and Culture Commission

The Commission will receive updates on the Artsakh Avenue Re-Development Project and progress on the 2023-2024 Work Plan. Additionally, staff will present information regarding Library, Arts & Culture events and the 2023 Urban Art Fund fee summary.

The Commission approved the minutes from three previous meetings held in February and March 2024. The remainder of the meeting consisted of staff updates on art projects and the 2023 Urban Art Program Fee Summary.

Parks, Recreation & Community Services Commission

The meeting consists of routine administrative items, including the introduction of new or promoted employees. The commission will also receive monthly activity reports for the Workforce Development, Recreation, and Park Services sections.

Design Review Board

The Design Review Board is reviewing several residential development projects. These include a new 12-unit apartment complex on South Maryland Avenue and single-family home construction or additions. The board will also consider the demolition and reconstruction of a residence on Glenmont Drive.

Special Arts and Culture Commission Meeting

The Glendale Arts and Culture Commission will meet to discuss proposed programming for the Adams Square Mini Park Gas Station exhibits. This is a special meeting scheduled for March 13, 2024.

City Council

The City Council will vote on appropriations totaling $7 million for multimodal and transportation improvements. The agenda also includes closed sessions regarding labor negotiations and property acquisitions. Additionally, the council will review changes to the nomination process for city boards and commissions.

A request to review the mayoral selection rotation policy was tabled with a 3-2 vote.

Special Joint Meeting between the Planning Commission and the Sustainability Commission

The Planning Commission and Sustainability Commission will review a report regarding the Proposed Bike Network Map and the phasing of the Bicycle Transportation Plan. This is an informational item for receiving a report and providing feedback; no formal action to approve or adopt these items will be taken.

The Planning and Sustainability Commissions reviewed a proposed bike network map and implementation phasing. Both commissions voted to send recommendations regarding the plan to the City Council.
