Council to decide on police chief hiring authority and US 101 plan
The council will vote on Resolution R2526-12, which would authorize the City Administrator Pro Tem to negotiate an interim or permanent contract for a new Police Chief within the approved budget. They will also hear a presentation from ODOT and Kittleson on the US 101 Community Connections Plan, including three alternative lane configurations for the central segments, and provide feedback. The meeting begins with the 2026 State of the City address by Mayor Tamie Kaufman.

Council to vote on water rate increase, no-smoking park ordinance
The Gold Beach City Council will hold a public hearing and second reading of Ordinance 691, which would ban smoking in city parks except in a designated area. The council will also vote on resolutions to increase water rates while keeping sewer rates the same, accept the 23/24 audit, adopt new police priorities, and approve new committee bylaws. The meeting includes a work session on Curry Transfer & Recycling and presentations on aquatic safety and water rates.
