3. Depot Road - Hill Runoff lssue: Current Mitigation/Long Term PIan
Mr. Mularski reported when this issue started approximately a month ago, there were discussions regard-
ing insurance, code safety, etc. Some corrections were made to the roadside of the Cove - removal of
railroad ties (unfortunately leaving fill that was put in behind them), some of the wood chips near the path,
and the stairs. Since then, a series of heavy rain events created a bit of runoff and erosion. Hay bales
(wattles) were installed; however, silt fencing cannot be installed because of limited soil and the presence
of rock, especially down by the stream. Mr. Mularski stated the wattles appear to be doing a pretty good
job, but recommended they be brought to the top of the hill to preventing downhill runoff. There appears
to be sutficient tree cover to soften the flow of the water preventing massive erosion (actually, there is
very little; a good thing).
