WELCOME TO THE HAMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Because of the large number of matters that need consideration, the City Council has
established a meeting format and certain guidelines for citizen participation. These help ensure
that everyone who wishes to speak can do so, and that the Council can benefit from hearing as
many different people as possible in the shortest time.
ORDER OF BUSINESS
Agenda items are taken up one at a time in the order in which they are listed. Matters on the
consent agenda are routine and are adopted by one motion without separate discussion .
However, items can be moved from the consent agenda to the regular agenda upon request by a
member of the Council. Keep in mind that the agenda is for the convenience of the public and the
Council, and that it can be altered by the Council at any time without prior notice when the Council
considers it in the public's interest to do …

>> spotlight session and tonight we have a council spotlight that hamptons is living out part of safe and strategy community through outstanding work, invite brian markasi. >> thank you mayor, city council. I have to say if ever a perfectly matched time for this topic, it's today. Happy earth day everyone. Tonight's spotlight is one of our seven key strategies safe and clean community. To ensure that all hampton citizens and businesses are safe and healthy and secure in persons and property. We think of safety terms in terms of policing and youth engagement or blight removal, and all of these matter enormously, and safe and clean community is where the air is clean and waste is managed responsibly and businesses are good stewards of their environment. That's what tonight's honorees represent as we have said about the spotlight series, local government should not be the sole solution provider. Progress happens through partnership and tonight we celebrate four hampton businesses that are living out that philosophy, not because they are required to but chose to. These honorees are the peninsula mission forum that recognize businesses making a real measurable difference in our environment and community. what you will hear is remarkable not just because the businesses are doing the right thing for the planet, doing it creative and deeply community rooted ways. WELCOME TO THE HAMPTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Because of the large number of matters that need consideration, the City Council has

ensure that everyone who wishes to speak can do so, and that the Council can benefit from
hearing as many different people as possible in the shortest time.
ORDER OF BUSINESS

consent agenda are routine and are adopted by one motion without separate discussion .
However, items can be moved from the consent agenda to the regular agenda upon request
by a member of the Council. Keep in mind that the agenda is for the convenience of the
public and the Council, and that it can be altered by the Council at any time without prior
notice when the Council considers it in the public's interest to do so.
