Select Board to vote on sewer easements, budget transfers, and liquor licenses

The Harwich Select Board will hold a joint meeting with the Water & Wastewater Commissioners to discuss the Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan. COMMENTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS A. Public Martha Donovan, speaking as a resident, raised concerns regarding two zoning issues affecting her neighborhood off Route 137 behind Stop and Shop. She explained that the homes were built as part of a clustered residential development and are served by sewer. Ms. Donovan described a recent request by a homeowner in the neighborhood to construct an addition that included a front- facing dormer. The homeowners association denied the request because the development's regulations prohibit front-facing dormers and homes that appear to be two stories. The Building Inspector also denied the application due to lot coverage limitations within the Water Protection District, where lot coverage is limited to 20% of the lot. Ms. Donovan stated that the applicant appealed to the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA), citing two previously approved homes that exceeded the lot coverage …

Call to order Ms. Cebula called the meeting of the Charter Commission for the Town of Harwich to order on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 6:30PM. The Chair declared a quorum. 2. Approval of regular minutes for June 18 and June 25 Ms. Hall moved to approve the regular minutes for June 18 and June 25. Seconded by Ms. Underwood. V ote: 7:0 in favor. Motion carried. 3. Continuing Business Compliance Ms. Cebula noted that she had sent out information regarding a Compliance Commission to members. She also noted changes in language to include a Hearing Officer.
