REASON FOR EMERGENCY MEETING
Pursuant to Section 551.045 of the Texas Government Code, this meeting is called with
more than one hour but less than three business days’ notice to consider a matter of
emergency or urgent public necessity requiring a meeting under said statutory provision is
as follows:
There exists an emergent and immediate need for approval of the emergency response to
suspicious network activity related to a cybersecurity incident, time is of the essence in
moving forward with the emergency response with possible resolution.
Pursuant to Government Code Sec. 551.047 related to Special Notice to News Media of
Emergency Meeting or Emergency Addition to Agenda, any news media who may have met
the requirements of Sec. 551.047 have been notified of the emergency meeting by either
telephone, facsimile transmission, or electronic mail at least one hour before the meeting
is convened.
The City of Jacksonville City Council does hereby reserve the permitted right to convene in
Executive Session as allowed by Texas Government Code Chapter 551 for any of the
following purposes:
