Public Works Council Committee

Finance & Administration Council Committee

Metropolitan Area Planning Commission

Board of Zoning Adjustments

The Board of Zoning Adjustments will hear three variance appeals: a building setback variance at 822 N Church St, a reduction of exterior glass percentage and parking aisle allowance at 914 Canera Dr, and a variance to build on a 50 ft lot at 1423 Angelus St. The board will also approve minutes from the June 2 meeting.

Public Safety Council Committee

The Public Safety Council Committee will consider two ordinances changing traffic patterns near Jonesboro Public Schools and placing new traffic signs. They will also vote on resolutions to apply for federal grants for firefighter assistance and fire prevention. A report on mosquito control for May 2026 will be presented.

Two rezoning requests are on the agenda: changing 1004 N Caraway Rd from R-1 to Planned Development, and changing 2038 N Caraway St from C-3 to RM-16 multi-family residential.

The Finance Committee recommended to full council a resolution amending the city salary and administration plan, which restructures positions and pay grades in a budget-neutral manner. Also recommended were resolutions for free utility services from City Water and Light, a municipal lien on 316 S McClure, and the FY2026-2027 CDBG annual action plan. A separate lien on 300 E Pine St was tabled for corrections.
