Council to consider property tax rate of $0.5846 per $100 for 2026

The Kerrville City Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed FY2027 budget and consider adopting a property tax rate of $0.5846 per $100 of assessed value. The consent agenda includes second readings of ordinances for a zoning change, building code updates, and KPUB rate schedules, as well as approvals of budgets for the appraisal district, airport board, and visitors bureau. The council will also vote on resolutions for a negotiated Atmos Energy rate settlement, transferring cultural arts district management, and using tax increment funds for parking and exterior improvements. A discussion on the future of Granger MacDonald Park is also scheduled.
