Agricultural Education Commission Minutes
The Agricultural Education Commission (AEC) met on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Farm Bureau - 7000
Commerce Circle, Baton Rouge, LA 70809. The meeting was called to order at 10 am by Bonnie Lefort,
co-Chair. Members present were Cade LeJeune, Kaffia Arvie, Allison Dumas, Sadie Phelps, Dan McBride,
Dr. Todd Tariffa, Megan Gravois, Trevor Rushing, Dr. Kristin Stair, Martha Moore (proxy) and Dr. Kimberly
Williams.
Representing the Louisiana Department of Education were Bonnie Lefort, and Nikki Landry.
A quorum was present.
1. On the motion of Dr. Todd Tariffa, seconded by Allison Dumas, the Agriculture Education Commission
elected Bonnie Lefort and Cade LeJeune to serve as Co-Chairs.
2. On the motion of Allison Dumas, seconded by Sadie Phelps, the Agricultural Education Commission
approved the minutes of the meeting held September 25, 2025.
3. The Agricultural Education Commission discussed the following items:
a. Jump Start 2.0 Enhancements regarding Agriculture Mechanics and NCCER Core to
U17 pathways - both were approved by BESE
b. Future Farmers of America (FFA) - Cade LeJeune gave a Louisiana LSBAE update
inclusive of classroom/laboratory, FFA and SAE updates.
With no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting is adjourned at 10:36 a.m..
